About the SDG
SDG 14: Life Below Water is one of the 17 SDGs created by the United Nations (UN) in 2015. This goal entitles conserving the oceans while sustainably using marine resources, as well as protecting marine wildlife and marine biodiversity. The various threats that we humans are causing are mainly ocean acidification and ocean pollution, both of which affect marine wildlife negatively. By 2030, the UN aims to achieve an increase in sustainable fisheries, prevent overfishing and ensure the safety of the marine ecosystem.
