FreeRice Initiative

FreeRice is an app run by the United Nations under the initiative known as World Food Program (WFP). The app donates 5 grains of rice (or a mix of foods depending on customs and the nutritional needs of the people) for every question answered correctly.

We aim to donate 1 million grains of rice from this project to bring a change and end hunger.

"End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture" - United Nations

There are 690 million people in the world who suffer from hunger which makes up 8.9% of the world population. Most suffer from undernourishment, acute levels of food insecurity and no access to sufficient food. By 2030, the number of people affected by hunger will exceed 890 million if current trends continue.
That means there would be a 1 in 10 chance for every person to be born to live a hungry life!

- You feed the poor !
- You broaden your knowledge !
- -You stand a chance to win a prize !
- Most importantly, you make a difference !

By joining this initiative, you will be able to feed the hungry. Not only that, but you will also learn important things about SDG 2: Zero Hunger, that will make you more aware and conscious of the pressing hunger-related issues facing the world today. Prizes will be won by the top achievers as our sign of acknowledgement and gratitude for the participation in this event.

WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN THIS INITIATIVE?

Malaysia is NOT part of the 1951 Refugee Convention or its protocol

Thus, refugees in Malaysia do not have fundamental rights such as:

- Access to education

- Access to healthcare

- Safe & lawful employment

- Equal protection of the law

- Freedom of movemnt

Think about what would do without a home to live in? Or access to a hospital if we're sick? That's what living as a refugee would be like every single day.
